Framing and Picasa

Here is my video and photos. They are not the photos I intended, but I learned a lesson about lens cleaning. It was never an issue with my Canon Elph... I also notice that a lot of quality has been lost in the process of making this video.

    1. Those are my scary masks. I love them. There are two. They are very odd, but I think that is why I enjoy them so much.

  2. I LOVE the pretzel photo. It's such a unique take on framing. I spent so much time scouting locations and objects for this assignment. I never even thought about using a bag or box as the framing for the contents within. The soft colors from the light filtering through the bag are a nice contrast to the darker colors and crisper lines on the pretzels themselves. This was a great inspiration.

I notice that three of your photos include mirrors this week, and I would encourage you to consider angles when photographing mirrors because I think you are including elements this way into your photographs that are not intentional and may detract from the overall composition.

    1. Thank you Jen. =)

You are right about the mirrors. I don't really know why I thought they were a good idea. I know I was exhausted and upset over my ruined road trip photos. Unfortunately not my best work, but I am glad one of them caught you eye. =)

  3. I have to say that the DOF on the pretzel photo really makes it. I kind of wish there was less centering involved, but either way it's a fantastic shot. The mask at the bottom, though, lends itself incredibly well to being centered, and it's also a great shot. The car photo is nice, but I find myself wishing the driver was lit up better, he's just sitting there in the shadows and it's hard to make out a lot of details.

    1. Ya, I had one that was lit up better, but it was pretty blotchy from a dirty lens. I was trying to use the car window as a frame for the scenic views. Try and Try again though!
